Hi I have just got a PSP so unfamiliar with it and this software so looking for some advice..

First of all my setup..

Server is running on Vista on a wifi laptop, accessing via localhost works fine.

Using a psp to access the rss feed however fails if the vista firewall is on.
It works fine if i totally disable it.

I have tried adding my custom port number to the exceptions (TCP) with the scope of Any computer,.

I have also added MyTunesRSS.exe to the exceptions list.

I have no outgoing firewall.

Also I tried using the Advanced firewall config and found that there are 3 levels of firewall.. Domain, Private, Public... If i disable the Private zone it gets through.

Is there anything else that I need to open up as I don't want to drop the firewall.

Thanks for any help you can offer.. let me know if you need any more info.. I'm away to see what happens when I access it from another PC on the network.

(I am only trying to access this within the LAN not over the internet)

Graeme

It's working now Cool

Not 100% sure what I have done.. I removed all entries i'd made to the firewall, and re added my port and it works. I've set the port only to be accessible by my subnet and it's still playing away.

Must have been a refresh bug or a typo although I checked my port number a few times.

Spent ages on it.. and it works about 4 minutes after I post

Thanks anyway Laughing

What should a laptop's firewall settings be to allow to it access the internet? In our WiFi network, some laptops are unable to access the internet while others can. Assuming that certain laptops are unable to connect due to a firewall setting, how do I configure the laptops to allow them to go online?
